A word from the founder
Talk to me before you book
I’ve spent years guiding my home rivers, the Welsh Wye and Usk, and fishing further afield. It taught me that a good trip comes down to being on the right water, at the right time, with the right guide. That’s what I sort out for you. No hidden mark-ups, and 10% of profits go to wild fish conservation. Ask me anything before you book.

Reviews
What our anglers say
“I requested a 2-day guide. James is not only a great fishing guide, but also a great friend who takes care of my accommodation and food. I am Japanese and my English is not very good, but he made me very happy. I was a beginner but on the second day I caught the best big brown trout I have ever caught! If you want to fly fish in the UK, James is the way to go.”
太田匡人 · Japan
“What a wonderful 2 days I had again last weekend on Usk and Wye full of catches guided by my good friend James. I can say that I have already managed to reach a reasonable level in nymphing and dry fly fishing. Next level: grayling. Thanks James.”
Dan Cristian Oprea · Usk & Wye
“James is a great fishing guide. Technical and precise, he also has a great understanding of the river, its moods and the circle of life that exists within it. All of which is shared in his easy going laid back style. I caught fish and I missed loads more fish, but the 2 days I spent with James on the Usk were more enjoyable for the fishing and the company than just the fish. 10/10”

Plan your trip
Fly fishing holidays, trips and vacations worldwide
We plan guided fly fishing holidays across wild rivers around the world, from the South Island of New Zealand to the limestone streams of the Balkans. Every trip is matched to the right season and the right guide, and you pay the same rate as booking direct.
Guided and hosted fly fishing trips
Book a private fly fishing trip shaped around you, or join one of our hosted fly fishing trips where a small group travels together with a FLYRUN host and a local guide. You fish with people who know the water, so your days are spent casting to fish rather than working out where they are.
The right water, lodges and season
A fly fishing vacation is about more than the fishing. We match you to a base that suits the trip, from a remote riverside camp to a comfortable fly fishing lodge with good food at the end of the day. Tell us what you have in mind and we will build a fly fishing holiday around it.

It varies by trip, but expert guiding, fishing licences and permits, transport to the water and a riverside lunch are standard. Every trip page lists exactly what is included and what is not.
Yes. Our guides tailor each day to you, from first-timers learning the basics through to experienced anglers chasing trophy fish. Clear water and good coaching make it a great place to improve.
You are welcome to bring your own, and quality rods, reels and flies are available to hire on most trips. We send a full kit list once you book so you arrive with the right setup.
Often, yes. Many of our destinations have great walking, scenery and food close to the fishing. Tell us about your group and we will let you know what works.
The best weeks and our hosted trips book up early, so the sooner the better. That said, we can sometimes arrange trips at shorter notice, so it is always worth asking.
Yes. We fish wild, self-sustaining fisheries, practise catch-and-release where it matters, and give 10% of our profits to wild fish conservation through organisations such as the Wild Trout Trust and the Wye and Usk Foundation.
